File Prep / Print 101

Below is a list of a few things you need to take into consideration when submitting your files.

  • An 1/8th of additional space on your document is required if your piece has bleeds on it. We cannot guarantee that your information will not be cut off if no bleed is built in on the file. Please refer to our templates if you need help.
  • Front and back pieces should be created as two separate files, not as one.
  • Minimum resolution is 300dpi for printing.
  • Files should be saved in CMYK color space.
  • We support the following file types - .psd (flattened), .tiff, .jpg, .eps, .ai, .pdf
  • Remember to convert all fonts to outlines when using a vector software package.
  • If you use one of our pre approved templates be sure to delete the layer it is on.

Here is an image of correctly submitted artwork and artwork that is submitted incorrectly.

A correct an incorrect way to submit artwork with a bleed

**Notice the additional space around the art work that is left for cutting purposes

The green represents the part of the image that will be cut. It is recommended to add an additional 1/8” to all sides of your artwork. For example: If you are printing a 4x6 flyer your artwork needs to be set up at 4.25x6.25. Make sure the background extends to the edge of the art board. Drag your guides in 1/8” all the way around and keep all important information within the area inside the guides. Any text or image or important information that extends to the edge will be cut off if no bleed is available. If you need additional assistance feel free to contact us or download a template for your product from the template page.
